Bellamy Warning

CRAIG BELLAMY has told the football world to get ready for the arrival of Aaron Ramsey.

The Arsenal midfielder will make his Wales debut in Brondby against Denmark tonight, aged just 17. Not since Ryan Giggs broke into the side at the same age 16 years ago has there been so much excitement about a player making their Wales bow. But Bellamy insists the hype surrounding Ramsey is deserved and believes both club and country have a special talent on their hands.

“I cannot recall as much fuss about a young Wales player maybe since Ryan Giggs,” said the Wales captain. “But he was in Manchester from a young age, while Aaron has come through the ranks in Cardiff.

“We have seen a lot more about him because of that.I saw Aaron when he was 12. I have known his father for a long time, so I have been aware of his talent.

“There’s a big fuss, and rightly so because he is a special talent. We don’t get many like him in Wales, certainly not as good as him coming through.

“I don’t want to put too much pressure on him, but everyone is very excited about him and that includes me.”

Ramsey featured in last season’s FA Cup Final for Cardiff before moving to Arsenal in a £5m summer move.

Since then he has held his own in the Premier and Champions League and has starred for Arsene Wenger’s more youthful Carling Cup line-up.
